FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where can I see which nights are available?
On the STAY page, at the very bottom, just click in the “check in date”-field, and a calender will pop up, showing occupancy.
When should I visit?
Every season has its own charm. Spring and Summer are warmer, but because of the leaves on the trees, there might be less light. Fall colours are wonderful, as are sunny winter days. Even rainy days are special here.
Do I need a car?
Coming by car will be your most convenient option and will allow you to get around easily. But it’s not absolutely necessary. There is a bus from the local railway station passing close to our place.
Should I bring anything? What's available?
We’ve got sheets, towels, firewood… for you. One thing you may want to bring are slippers, as the floor is not heated.
The kitchen has a fridge, combi microwave oven, stove, utensils, pots & pans, plates, an espresso machine with beans, and some basic supplies like oil, vinegar and some spices.
Do you serve meals?
We don’t offer meals, but there are supermarkets and restaurants at about 5km, as well as take away possibilities. We’ll send you a restaurant list on reservation. You also have a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal.
Can I gift a stay to someone else?
Yes you can! Check it out at here
Can I bring my kids?
There are some ponds etc on the property, so you’ll have to make sure to keep an eye on young children. Don’t leave children unsupervised in the forest. Also, the mezzanine might not be suitable for them (but in that case parents could sleep there and kids could sleep in the ground floor bedroom).
Can I bring my dog?
We understand you love your dog and we do too, but because chickens are everywhere, we cannot allow dogs, unfortunately.
What about accessability?
We ask to park the car on our parking, 150m from the cabin, and walk the rest of the way. The path is gravel. We are not sure yet how accessibile it is for wheelchairs. In any case, the way back to the road is uphill, so it might be strenuous. The door to the bedroom is regular size width.
How isolated is this place?
The cabin itself is 150 meters from the road. Our property is about 5 km from the town of Ronse (30.000 inhabitants), which offers all kinds of shops and supermarkets. The Muziekbos (Music Forest) is in walking distance.
Is it like totally quiet?
It’s usually pretty quiet – certainly at night – but you might hear the sounds of some agricultural vehicles and garden tools.
How is this place vegan friendly?
The owners are vegan and will give you every information you need for a vegan getaway. We ask guests not to consume or prepare meat or fish in the cabin.
Is it cold in the cabin?
It’s a forest, so the temperature is a few degress lower than in places that get more sun. Heating inside is with firewood and electric.
Are there animals who may come close?
Our four dogs and one of the cats may approach you. They all are very nice. The most that can happen is that you might get a muddy paw on your clothes.
Our other animals are housed next door. We can take you to visit them.
Can we rent bikes?
You can find electric bikes for rent in Ronse
(about 5km away). You can also fine offroad e-steps in Oudenaarde (about 14km away)
